Art Is Life
each day, I learn how to live.
Artist Statement
I am an artist. I paint. I can not, not paint. I also draw and must draw. There is a mechanism inside me that screams daily to create something, that I must listen to and obey. I was a late bloomer and started art school in my mid 20s. Before that I played music and acted but my stage fright was overwhelming. Visual arts allowed me to go through the emotional stress of creating in private first. Although I do spend a lot of time experimenting and learning in my studio my formal works are often around flowers and landscapes because they make me feel good. Still lives especially soothe my soul and connect me to something quiet and old. Flowers uplift my spirit and landscapes help me breathe deeper. I love all of it.
