Ack! I love this painting. I painted it from a blind sketch of geraniums on a gorgeous summer morning. Blind sketches are when you don’t look at the paper, only the subject. The results are cool and wonky and it helps one loosen up. I teach this technique and others in my drawing classes. So anyway, I created a painting from this day, this drawing, and this feeling when everything felt perfect. A perfect summer day with geraniums. The finished painting has a surprising sophistication in it, considering its ultra saturated style. Sometimes you just need heavy pink. It’s just a wee little painting with BIG energy.
